Our design vision for Downtown Commons transformed six blocks of Sacramento's urban core into a dynamic entertainment and cultural epicenter that seamlessly weaves together sport, retail, hospitality, and community life. We crafted a comprehensive brand experience strategy that unified the mixed-use development's diverse programming—from the Golden 1 Center arena to the Kimpton Sawyer hotel and retail spaces—under a cohesive identity that celebrates Sacramento's emerging cultural renaissance. Through strategic placemaking and experiential design, we developed wayfinding systems, environmental graphics, and activation zones that guide visitors through interconnected plazas and create moments of discovery throughout the six-block district. Our approach positioned Downtown Commons not just as a destination, but as the beating heart of a revitalized downtown Sacramento, establishing a new standard for urban entertainment districts that honor local culture while attracting national attention.
