For Lumen Optometric we designed a high-end eye-care experience that seamlessly balances clinical precision with retail warmth, transforming patient expectations in Sierra Madre. Our spatial strategy organizes the practice into distinct yet complementary zones, with acoustic ceiling baffles softening sound while adding textural depth. Custom wood displays and storage systems maintain clean organization while preserving warmth, complemented by delicate fixtures that create an approachable front-of-house experience. The material palette transitions from oak tones and vibrant accents in the retail shop to muted, calming hues in examination areas, ensuring each space serves its function while contributing to a cohesive patient journey. Since opening, Lumen Optometric has been celebrated by the Sierra Madre community for revitalizing a previously dormant corner of Sierra Madre Boulevard, demonstrating how thoughtful design can energize both businesses and neighborhoods.
