Nature Near Pavilion

For the Format Festival, we collaborated with Nelson Architects to design the Nature Near Pavilion, a groundbreaking nomadic structure that redefined temporary event architecture. As conceptual designers, we created an elevated experiential ecosystem that seamlessly blended music venue, art installation, and community gathering space within Bentonville's forested landscape. Our approach elevated the pavilion three feet above the natural terrain using scaffolding and industrial prefabs, connected by Cross Laminated Timber platforms that celebrated both safety and sustainability. The design featured dynamic day-to-night transformations through integrated projection mapping, where exterior graphics evolved into immersive interior experiences. Conceived as a physical homage to the Pantheon with zero environmental impact, the fully demountable structure earned recognition with a Retail Design Institute Innovation Award for its visionary integration of architecture, technology, and natural environment.
